"Ozinators" in particular don't work very well, and you don't want them indoors. You might be able to get away with a lower chemical level if you are the only person using the pool, but the main alternatives have trade offs. Arrgh.Ī few pointers: 1) Don't believe the advertisements about alternatives to chlorine and/or bromine. Theoretically the new pool liner shipped Monday, but they "forgot" about the pump and heater that I paid to ship to them in December. Mine has been broken for a year, and while I dropped the ball on immediately following up on their offer of a warranty replacement, they have now been putting me off since October. I purchased a "Therapy Pool 4 Less" a few years ago, chosen primarily because the advertized 5' height would let me fill it to a 4'6." (The pool is actually only 58" high.) If water is too shallow, I tend to overuse my neck and shoulders to stabilize myself when I'm doing upright exercises. I might also look at higher end pool doo-dads like treadmills and such. I may even buy some aspects of the plumbing from them. I've looked at the thera-pool ads on-line. (I also want it to be well-insulated, because I'm sure the propane bill won't be cheap, even with insulation.) I plan to heat it with a direct-vent on-demand propane water heater with enough BTUs to raise the temperature to where I need it in an hour or two, if possible. I plan to get a spa company to do the plumbing, but have my contractor provide the structure with a direct pour of concrete (that is, where we don't already have concrete). Temperature-wise and size-wise, it's somewhere between a hot tub and a small swimming pool. without Chlorine, Bromine, or pretty much any chemicals.) With the greenhouse heater, I can have the air temperature up to a comfy 75 degrees or so in no time. That way, I don't have to worry about mold and I can filter the water how I want or need to (i.e. I just bought a house with a heated greenhouse over a garage, so I'm going to put the pool in the garage and enter it from the greenhouse. A good therapy pool is about 4.5 feet deep and made to walk and do things like bicycle kicks in.

I don't see doing a lot of swimming in the one I plan to build, but I *do* see doing a lot of exercising.
